Génesis 2:1–3
1 Fueron, pues, acabados los cielos y la tierra, y todo el ejército de ellos.
2 Y acabó Dios en el día séptimo la obra que hizo; y reposó el día séptimo de toda la obra que hizo.
3 Y bendijo Dios al día séptimo, y lo santificó, porque en él reposó de toda la obra que había hecho en la creación.

Después de seis días de que Dios trabajo en su creación, el descanso en el séptimo día. Él no descanso porque estaba cansado o porque él lo necesitaba, pero descanso porque esa es su naturaleza y porque Dios nos estaba enseñando una lección. Dios quería dejarnos saber que nosotros necesitamos descansar. Claro, también necesitamos trabajar (no solo descansar), pero después de trabajar nosotros necesitamos descansar. No solo necesitamos descansar fisicamente, pero necesitamos descansar en nuestra fe y en nuestro espíritu. Después de que hemos hecho todo lo que nosotros podamos hacer, y después de que hemos obedecido la palabra De Dios, entonces podemos descansar y saber que todo va estar bien. Dios tiene el control. Nuestra fe descansa en la palabra de Dios! Cuando ud, hizo su parte, ahora descanse y diga, “Dios, ya no hay nada que yo puedo hacer, ahora descanso en tus promesas. Yo sé que tu las llevaras acabo!”

1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

God worked six days on his creation and then he rested on the seventh day. He did not rest because he was tired or because he needed it, but he rested because that is his nature and because God was teaching us a lesson. God wanted to let us know that we need to rest. Sure, we also need to work (not just rest), but after working we need to rest. Not only do we need to rest physically, but we need to rest in our faith and in our spirit. After we have done all that we can do, and after we have obeyed God's word, then we can rest and know that everything will be okay. God is in control. Our faith rests on the word of God!
